Natalie Sweeney - Mezzo-Soprano

Natalie Sweeney is a mezzo-soprano originally from the Chicago area. She received her BM in voice performance, along with a BS in physics, from Michigan State University, where she studied under Melanie Helton. During her time at Michigan State, Ms. Sweeney appeared as The Child in Ravel’s L’enfant et les Sortilèges and Nancy in Britten’s Albert Herring. Ms. Sweeney is a 2023 Emerging Artist at Seagle Festival, where she will perform in Sondheim’s A Little Night Music as Countess Charlotte Malcolm and Jerry Bock’s Fiddler on the Roof as Chava.

Mezzo Soprano Natalie Sweeney will be the soloist in the "Eight Poems of Emily Dickenson" by Aaron Copland.  Natalie is a summer participant in the Seagle Festival in Schroon Lake.  Seagle Festival is the premier opera and musical theater producing organization in the Adirondacks, and the oldest and one of the most distinguished summer vocal training programs in the United States. Seagle Festival celebrates its 108th summer season in 2023 with a program that includes four mainstage productions of opera and musical theater, a touring children’s opera, a touring cabaret style revue, and several other concerts and special events. Selected via a rigorous national application and audition process, the 32 Seagle Festival emerging artists receive intensive career preparation, and performances opportunities each summer and fall season. Former Seagle Festival artists now appear on major operatic stages across the United States and Europe as well as on Broadway.
