The mission statement of the Lake Placid Sinfonietta:

"The Lake Placid Sinfonietta--the Adirondacks' orchestra of world-class musicians--unleashes the power of music to entertain, educate, and inspire people of all ages."

The Lake Placid Sinfonietta (LPS) is a professional chamber orchestra of twenty musicians from across the country. Since inception in 1917 and continuing to the present day, the LPS has provided excellent live classical music performance to communities in the heart of the Adirondacks. LPS professional musicians serve on university faculties and perform with other highly regarded orchestras, such as the Alabama Symphony, Delaware Symphony, Vermont Symphony, Rochester Philharmonic, Quad City Symphony, and the Tucson Symphony.
